About Cedar River Montessori

Located on 12 acres of forest, wetland, and pasture, Cedar River Montessori is proud to center anti-racist, anti-bias, accredited Montessori education for students from early childhood through middle school in south King County. Learn more about our mission and values here. Summer gives us a chance to explore both on campus and afield, all with daily swimming! We look forward to spending the summer exploring our 12 acre campus, together!

Swimming

We partner with British Swim School to offer a swim program designed to complement the Montessori philosophy your child experiences every day.

Swimming is more than a summer activity — it’s an essential life skill. Through consistent, structured lessons led by trained instructors, children develop water safety awareness, self-trust, and confidence that extends far beyond the pool.

Program highlights include:
  • Small-group instruction led by expert instructors for all summer program participants at no extra cost
  • Lessons that encourage routine and steady progress
  • Guided water play that reinforces learning and exploration
  • A focus on safety, confidence, and independence

Swim Lessons:
Early Childhood and Elementary students have daily group lessons or open swim time, conditions dependent. Lessons are 20-30 minutes based on the students' assessed swim levels and comfort in the water.
