Parent Involvement
CRMS has a strong parent group, the Family Staff Alliance (FSA), that supports families in learning about and thriving in a Montessori environment. It also supports the school with fundraising programs and 10 Hour Power, our volunteer program.
FSA fundraising focuses on "passive fundraising," connecting families and friends with programs and businesses that give a portion of proceeds back to the school. These programs enable our community to support the school with regular puchases that they would make every day. This year's goal is to raise $5,000 - the cost of our new weather station. You can help too, by participating in any of the programs listed below.
Our FSA meets several times a year to organize the parent-supported events like our annual auction, community care days, and various student performances. We also encorporate an educational element into the meetings, helping parents know and understand the Montessori method and how it works.
10 Hour Power, our volunteer program, asks each family to contribute 10 hours of volunteer time to the school each year. Opportinites including helping out in the classrooms or on field trips, working from home, or helping on community care days. Parents are asked at the beginning of the year how they would like to participate and what skills they would like to share. We work to match them up with something that is meaningful to both them and the school.

- Target Take Charge of Education Program Target donates 1% of REDcard (Target Visa and Target Credit Card) purchases made at Target and Target.com, and Visa purchases made elsewhere to your designated school.
- School Pop Shop & Earn Program You can shop at hundreds of online stores, get special deals, and contribute up to 18% to CRMS with every purchase.
- Everything Party Store This store, at their locations in Renton at the Landing and in Redmond, gives back 10% to CRMS ONLY when mentioned at the time of sale.
- The FSA also collects Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Labels for Education, Tyson Project A+ labels, as well as inkjet cartridges, laser/toner cartridges, cell phones, ipods and laptops for recycling.
