Our Campus

The CRMS campus is a 12 acre wetland nestled between the Cedar River and the Renton highlands. The surrounding flora and fauna provide the sense of a natural protected oasis perfect for learning and growing, yet we are convenient to Renton, Issaquah, Maple Valley and other nearby communities. We have two school buildings, a playground with a creek, pasture, natural wetlands and of course, the Cedar River itself.

Our main school building is a converted home with multiple classrooms spaces on the first floor and administrative offices on the second floor. Our second building is a more recent addition and was designed with the specific needs of a Montessori early childhood classroom in mind. These rooms feature big open spaces and large windows placed low enough for smaller students to see out.

We have a wonderful Children’s Garden developed by our incredible parents in which children plant the starts they grew from seed, tend to the fruits and vegetables, and enrich the soil with compost made from the scraps of their own lunches.

We also have a pool, which is at the core of the best memories of many of our alumni.  We open the pool in late spring and keep it open in early fall for some lessons and after-school care swimming.  It is key piece of our summer program and each child receives a daily swim lesson at no extra charge.  Lessons and supervision are provided by our certified pool operator and American Red Cross swim instructor and lifeguard.
